The Top 5 Mindful moments on Gili Air

Island life offers so many things to get excited about when planning your visit. Apart from the fact that the water temperature is always perfect and you are escaping the bubble you live in, you will be in heaven whilst sipping from a coconut with your toes in the warm sand. Below is our top 5 Mindful moments. When you visit and experience them, just close your eyes for 20 seconds to savour and imprint that positve emotion within you.  And no matter where you may be in the future you can close your eyes and invoke that experience, always feeling connected to Gili Air and to your true nature of peace.

Sunrise
During your visit make the effort to awaken early and walk the short 200 meters from our center to East Beach, home of the magical sunrise. As you sit on the beach watching the darkness changing to different shades in the sky and listening to the rippling waves you will feel connection to a source energy . When the suns warmth touches your face as it rises over Mt Rinjani, you will feel all worries and concerns are far away. Close your eyes for 20 seconds, feel the ebb and flow of your breath and know that today is a great day!
The Coconut
Get a fresh young coconut full of replenishing electrolytes and hold it in one hand, feeling the beauty of its design and its texture and weight. Swivel your toes deep into the warm sand feeling a connection to the strength and stability of mother earth, knowing she grew the tree that the coconut came from. Think of the young local Indonesian man who climbed the tall winding tree with joy to bring you this gift. Slowly lift the coconut, take a small sip of its wonderful juice, close your eyes for 20 seconds and know that today is a great day!
Five or Snorkeling
Whether it be a tank on your back or a simple snorkel and mask, make your way in to the inviting ocean and realize you are entering another world, you are a visitor. Start repeating the mantra in your mind “ I love myself, and allow others to love me” Continue with your mantra and feel the emotion of being open to receive love from the fish and turtles. As they feel your peaceful vibration and lovingly move closer to you, smile, allow your eyes to soften, hold that beautiful feeling of being connected to nature and know that today is a great day!
The Hammock
Symbolic of well deserved rest, the hammock offers a safe environment to curl up like you are back in the womb. It contours to your body and can sway you, making it easy to connect to your inner child. Give yourself permission to relax, take 3 deep in breaths and out breaths and allow any tension to drift away like a feather in the breeze. Time does not exist now, you are not in a hurry to go anywhere. Close your eyes for 20 seconds whilst you know you are loving yourself on a deep internal level and remember, today is a great day !
Looking to The Stars
What a great time to contemplate the fact that we are on a planet that is moving within the universe. Find a place to lay and look up in amazement. Give thought to the times gone past when people in ships navigated by the stars and farmers planted there crops at certain times due to the gravitational pull of the moon. If man is not affected by the moon, the stars, the planets and the sun he is the only thing on Earth that isn’t. Now that you are away from your computer and look up to the dark sky you may feel, sense or think something that is hard to put in to words, that is your spiritual essence returning. Now close your eyes for 20 seconds and smile, knowing that today is a great day!
